CrushThisCourse

How CrushThisCourse works

CrushThisCourse turns your fitness and a race course into a placing prediction and a segment-by-segment bike power plan you can actually ride. Here is the whole flow, for athletes racing their own plan and for coaches planning for others.

For athletes

Race your own plan, start to finish.

  1. 1

    Predict your placing

    • Go to the Race Simulator (/sim).
    • Under Adjust your plan, use the Race field to search for your race. It is a searchable picker, not a plain dropdown, so typing a state abbreviation like FL or a nickname like IMFL works too.
    • Set your Age Group from the dropdown next to it.
    • Set your Target from the dropdown: Win (1st), Podium (Top 3), Top 5, or Top 10.
    • Drag the Swim, T1, Bike, T2, and Run sliders to your real or goal splits. The page recalculates automatically as you move them; there is no submit button.
    • Your result appears above the sliders: a probability, a predicted placing, and a split-by-split breakdown of how you compare to the field.

    Build a bike power plan

    • From /sim, tap the "Build your bike power plan ->" button in the Bike Power Plan section. It carries over the race you just picked, so there is nothing to re-enter.
    • This step needs a free account. If you are not signed in yet, you will get a quick sign-up prompt here; nothing you already entered gets lost.
    • Under Your Engine, enter your FTP in watts and your Weight (there is an lb/kg toggle next to it).
    • Set your Effort on the slider. The four presets are Easy, Moderate, Hard, and Race. Race matches actual race-day pacing, so it is the right choice for a first pass.
    • An Advanced section (bike and kit weight, riding position, surface) is there if you want to fine-tune it, but it is optional; the defaults work fine to start.

    Review the plan

    • Your predicted bike split appears at the top, along with a Power Plan card: a chart showing the exact watts to hold on every climb and descent, plus a few pacing cues to ride to.
    • Tap "Use in my race prediction" to send this bike split back into the placing prediction from step 1, so your prediction and your bike plan match.

    Export to your head unit

    • The plan you just built exports straight to your Garmin or Wahoo as a .fit file, but that happens in the CrushThisCourse mobile app, not here on the web.
    • Scan the QR code at the top of this page, or find CrushThisCourse in the App Store or Google Play, and sign in with the same account. The plan you just built will be waiting for you to export.

For coaches

Build and deliver plans for the athletes you coach.

  1. 1

    Add an athlete

From your coach hub, send an athlete an invite link. When they create their account, they land on your roster. They can be on the free plan and still receive everything you send them.

  2. 2

    Plan for that athlete

In the Race Simulator, set “Planning for” to the athlete, then pick the race and the target. Everything you build is now scoped to them.

  3. 3

    Build and deliver

Build the bike power plan with their numbers, then Save and deliver to the athlete. It lands on their account and notifies them, with its own .fit export on their side.

  4. 4

    They ride it

Your athlete opens CrushThisCourse, finds the plan you delivered, and exports the .fit to their own head unit. One coach subscription covers unlimited athletes.
